We hired Universal Moving OC because of the positive reviews. Approximately one month before the move, my husband specifically asked whether the movers would be able to assemble a shed at our new property. We were assured that this service could be completed, and we hired a four-person crew expecting the move to be handled quickly and efficiently. The crew arrived at approximately 8:00 a.m. However, progress was extremely slow. By 10:00 a.m., the movers requested a break and water, ultimately consuming an entire case of bottled water. Despite having four movers assigned to the job, loading proceeded at a pace that was far slower than expected. We also had informed the company that we were moving from a four-bedroom home and were assured that a 26-foot truck would be sufficient. By approximately 1:00 p.m., the crew discovered that the truck had not been loaded efficiently and began removing items in order to reorganize the contents. This process caused significant delays, and the truck did not depart until approximately 1:58 p.m. The delays continued during transit. We were informed that the crew became lost for approximately 30 minutes and mistakenly arrived at a church before locating our new residence. Although the distance between the properties did not justify such a lengthy travel time, the movers did not arrive until approximately 3:56 p.m. Upon arrival, the crew immediately requested another break. One mover stated that they were legally entitled to a break, which further delayed unloading. More concerning, despite hiring a four-person crew, only one individual appeared capable of properly reassembling furniture. During the move, substantial damage occurred. Our baby’s crib was broken, our Tempur-Pedic mattress valued at approximately $10,000 was damaged, and our brand-new flooring was scratched. In addition, the movers left shrink wrap, food waste, and other debris in our green waste bin before leaving the property. We immediately contacted the owner, Vas, regarding the damaged crib and expressed concern about where our baby would sleep that night. His response was that an insurance claim could be filed, but that the process would take time. At approximately 7:30 p.m., the crew was still at our home, yet little meaningful progress was being made. The owner then presented two options: (1) receive a 30% discount and have the shed assembled (remind you that this was the plan before scheduling), or (2) pursue compensation through the company’s insurance process. Based on those representations, we chose the 30% discount and expected the shed assembly to be completed as promised. Ultimately, we paid approximately $2,000 in cash. Despite the agreement, the crew later informed us that they would not be assembling the shed after all. They departed around 9:30 p.m., leaving us with damaged property, an unfinished project, and a moving experience that fell far below reasonable expectations. In summary, our move involved significant delays, property damage, unfulfilled promises, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when problems arose. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Universal Moving OC and would strongly encourage prospective customers to carefully consider other options before hiring this company.

Universal Movers were absolutely incredible. From start to finish, they were kind, genuinely helpful, and completely trustworthy. What stood out most was how humble and easy they were to work with — no ego, no stress, just good people doing excellent work. They worked unbelievably hard, yet somehow managed to keep a smile on their faces the entire time. That kind of attitude is rare, and it made the whole moving experience feel lighter and smoother.
