Patrice was my accountant for my S corp, she did my personal taxes and my sons personal taxes as well. She overcharges and under delivers. This year I found a new accountant from H&R Block. And I asked him the same question I had previously asked Patrice, which was "are my son's tools, work boots, and other equipment that he buys for his job tax deductible?" She told me no! I knew something was off. My new account, Michael at H&R Block when I told him this his jaw just dropped. They should've been tax deductible for the two years she did our taxes!! She was also so busy and took on too many clients and then she would have to do an extension because she couldn't get my taxes done by the due dates. And then she would charge me a fee for doing the extension. When I spoke with her, she said I should not have been charged for that and low and behold I've never gotten my money back. Run from her! This year my son (who is a lineman) had $25,000 in work deductions for his travel to other states Airbnb's and working storm work, buying tools etc.
