May Sung is a world class designer and architect and I felt enormously lucky that my project -- an historic kit house remodel -- caught her interest. She is a consummate professional with a deep stable of professional artisans and a detail oriented listening style that makes executing your vision seamless. I can't reccomend her enough. She has an artistic eye that balances where it's needed and throws off the balance where it's called for. Her design work walks the line between home and art in a way that honors both function and form. We're lucky to have her in LA, literally shaping our city for years to come.

May helped us with our home exterior renovation. She transformed our “sherbet” 1980’s looking exterior (yes…that was the color people used to describe it) to a stunning brick and stucco beauty. She worked hard to listen to all our concerns (length of renovation and cost) and was always flexible about taking into account our ideas and suggestions. She worked diligently to give us the best plans that were possible and helped us source the materials and labor. May is incredibly bright, hardworking, organized and creative. She often had incredibly innovative ideas that maximized space and cost. We have had people stop us in front of our house to ask who we used for our reno. May is an absolute gem. Our family is moving across the country but we will never take on a project without getting May’s opinion. We would not hesitate to use her again if she would ever help us remotely. Thank you for giving us the most beautiful version of our house!

May is a creative treasure and an absolute pleasure to work with. Her vision, expertise and attention to detail made me feel at ease from the moment we met. Building and designing a home has been so stressful, but May’s guidance and knowledge in architecture AND interior design truly sets her apart! She steered us in the right direction on all design and build issues. We made the mistake of not hiring her from the very beginning of our project. Even though she came in after we had already started our ground-up rebuild, May was critical in helping us create a beautiful home for our very busy household. We are a family of 6 with 4 growing teenagers and a dog. May takes the time to clearly understand not only what we wanted from a design sense but how our family works and the practical needs we have on a daily basis to create a gorgeous and seamless flow inside and outside of our home. May is incredibly thorough and thinks through every aspect of your project. She is always accessible and keeps our best interests in mind. She was essential in navigating us through numerous decisions. Her insight and wealth of experience in building and designing custom homes were invaluable. She is professional, organized, and we have loved working with her. We look forward to continue working with her in the years to come!

May is a genius architect and designer! She designed our house from the ground up AND did all the interior designs and was incredibly attentive to every single detail, from the disappearing corners on the windows to the couch pillows, the appliances, the window bench, the cabinetry, the lighting fixtures, my home office desk. She created both a work of art and a wonderfully cozy home for my family and our dog. I really can't say enough. She got to know us so well and designed a house that would meet our exact needs -- in fact anticipating what we would need before we even knew what we needed. She coordinated with the contractor and all the subs, meeting them weekly, making sure they did everything perfectly. She gave us brilliant guidance and was always right. If you have the chance to hire May, then look no further. She knew we would need outdoor fabrics on our indoor furniture (for 3 boys and a dog) and found the perfect fabrics. She walked through the construction every single week with the contractor and pointed out what was wrong and what needed to be fixed, but in the nicest, most patient way so that everyone on the crew loved working with her. If you have the chance to have May Sung in your life, then you must grab it.
