I opened a new auto insurance policy today with Branch Manager Alfred for a Tesla I purchased through Carvana. Unfortunately, I ended up not taking the car due to undisclosed defects. I had the policy for about 2-3 hours. Before purchasing the policy, I specifically asked Alfred what would happen if, in a worst-case scenario, I had to cancel it. At no point was I informed that there would be a nonrefundable broker fee. I feel this was important information that should have been disclosed upfront so I could make a fully informed decision. I wish there had been more transparency during the process. Clear communication about all fees and cancellation policies is essential. Im very disappointed.
