I highly recommend Kristin and have nothing but good things to say about her, and most importantly, her work product! She is knowledgeable, responsive and thoughtful. She listened to our goals / "must-haves" for the project from day 1 and made sure to incorporate these into a design that maximized natural light, flow, indoor-outdoor living and character. The project involved reworking a 1960s one-story bungalow into an updated two-story home with a new kitchen, master-suite, back deck and more. We absolutely love the final product. Kristin was on top of things and communicative during every step of the process. We hit certain snags with the City during the planning stage and she was quick to come up with creative alternatives and to convince us that the end product would be just as good. She understood our desire to stay on a budget and during a revision to the plans at the planning stage, she went above and beyond to call contractor contacts of hers to understand what the revision would mean from a framing and building standpoint and how that would - or would not - impact the cost of the project and the eventual bids we would receive. That additional information was critical to us sticking with our dream of designing and building our remodel. She also provided much-needed assistance and input during a structural review during the building phase. In addition to the architectural plans and drawings, she provides insight on final design of a room, including where furniture would go, lighting, etc. Finally, Kristin is a pleasure to work with on a personal level and is easy-going but deadline and detail-oriented. Would definitely call her if I had another project requiring her services! Thanks, Kristin!

After talking to 3 Architects in my area to design a granny flat (ADU) for me I choose Kristin Von Zweck. Kristin was the only one who listened to my desire to have plenty of light and air designed into the project. the project turned out beautifully, I could not be more pleased. My tenant loves her place!

I wholeheartedly recommend Kristin Von Zweck as an architect. We love the final product, which is our fully remodeled formerly single story ranch house, now a gorgeous, well-designed 2 story craftsman home. Kristin went above-and-beyond during every step of the process. A really good example of that is when we went up onto our roof, and she drew out with chalk where our windows and furniture would go, so she could maximize the view sight lines as part of her design. I really appreciate her attention to detail...I can't tell you how many well-thought-out elements she included in our house. There were skylights, solar tubes, which brought light from the roof all the way down to the first floor, planning for the future by adding an elevator, huge windows to open up the upstairs, covered patios and she even drew in her plans where our dogs would sleep! The last thing I want to mention is that Kristin is very environmentally aware, and included many 'green' features in our home that will help us conserve energy as well as allowing us to enjoy our home in a more environmentally responsible manner.

Kristin did an excellent job designing our addition. She took my concept drawing and made it work so that the addition looks like it belongs to the existing house. As a first time owner/builder I was very grateful for her guidance in getting me through the engineering, Title 24, and city permitting. She was always available and responsive to my questions. We have received enthusiastic praise on how beautiful our new 500 square foot master suite and study is and we are appreciative of all that Kristin did for us. I highly recommend Kristin as the architect for your project.

Kristin von Zweck is a fabulous architect! She was referred to us by a family friend who is a structural engineer. Kristin is very personable and receptive. She understood our needs and was able to design a second story addition and house remodel that has worked out wonderfully. Kristin gave great attention to practical details throughout our home like a well placed second sink in the kitchen and ensured adequate lighting with task lighting in bedrooms, closets, and large windows to allow natural light. She also encouraged us to include a great room with a large bifold door that opens to a covered outdoor living space . This seemed like a splurge at the time but has been the most heavily used area in our home and well worth the money spent. Kristin's background in interior design and her professional experience resulted in a completed project that is inventive, functional and beautiful. I recommend Kristin von Zweck highly!
