We just finished the first phase of a redesign project with the help of Vidal Design and we are happier with the outcome than we ever imagined being. Karen Vidal’s direct and deliberate approach was the beginning of a wonderful process that got us to a place that we simply didn’t have the capacity to get to on our own. Every bit of our house that Vidal Design touched looks great. Very thoughtful and considered demo kept at a minimum, creating beautiful and functional spaces that just did not exist before with a minimum of extra expense , keeping plumbing in place , keeping walls that just didn’t need to go, so much more than I could have imagined. I look forward to having Karen Vidal’s creative hand guiding the remainder of the remodel, turning the rest of our lovely home into our dream home. Vidal Design under promised and overdelivered and kept a guiding hand on every bit of our project. We highly recommend Vidal Design Collaborative without any reservations.

Over 4-5 months, working with Guy and his team helped us make our dream come true, which was to rent our house and move to Madrid. We completed significant upgrades, working directly with Guy’s contractors. We appreciated working with his team and avoided the usual hassle and uncertainty of working with most contractors. They did excellent work, were reliable, were easy to coordinate with, and their prices were also very reasonable. Guy and our day-to-day property manager, Shelly, did a great job managing the contractors while we were abroad as well as vetting our new tenants. We’re also quite happy with the dollar amount they got on the monthly rent. We couldn’t be happier with the process, the team and Guy’s experience and strategic guidance helping us manifest such a significant life change! Kudos to Vidal Design Collaborative!

Vidal Design Collaborative was absolutely fantastic every step of the way. Karen’s designs were fresh and the whole team was extremely attentive. They breathed life back into our kitchen leaving us with a super open, modern space that harmonizes with the mid century vibe of our house. It’s become our favorite room - one the whole family can enjoy.

In 2019, we completed a year-long major renovation with Karen and Guy, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We spent a long time interviewing design/build teams, and we couldn't find the right fit or vision...until we found Vidal Design Collaborative. The moment we saw their portfolio of other projects, we were sold. I have so much admiration for Karen's design sense. It's such a treat to live in such a beautiful space, especially when considering that it was originally a dark and boxy home that was not very inviting. With Karen's vision and their skilled architect, we created an open floor plan that has great flow. We added windows and light. And tiles. And built-ins. And character. We had great experiences with virtually all of their subs, but you can choose how involved you are with them since VDC project manages everything. We loved our project manager Steven, and the other VDC core team, Dion and Shelly. The finishing team (Humberto and his crew) who did the dry wall, carpentry, paint, tile, etc - did such an incredible job. True craftsmanship and attention-to-detail. Plus, they worked so hard to help us meet a move-in deadline when our rental lease was ending. They were able to stay within our agreed-upon budget, and they were realistic about timelines, how long it would take to get permits, etc. Basically no games. Lastly, Karen's perspective as a parent infuses her design-style, so there are many cool and practical things that she suggested (a second/lower shower head in our shower that our kids use exclusively, the height of the bookshelves in their play area that make books more accessible, etc) that we still reflect on today. Since 2019, we have done 2 outdoor projects with them, which also turned out so well. We highly recommend!

Karin designed some outdoor projects for us that tied the full property together as well as helped us with some design elements for the interior. The "magic" that Karin brings is her approach to utilize existing components and to rework/weave into something new and fresh. With the introduction of her design expertise, we were provided with a more harmonious space, which was what we needed. We would definitely recommend Vidal Design.
