This review is LONG overdue! There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are to Oscar and his entire team. Oscar oversaw a major renovation to our home simultaneous to the birth of our first child and after we had been burnt by another contractor. There's no world in which living through a remodel is an easy process and without hiccups, but to say Oscar and every person who stepped foot in our house made it their priority to make us happy is a vast understatement. Any time there was a sight price change for a material or labor Oscar let us know immediately and gave us options to work with. He responded lightning fast to texts no matter the time of day or day of the week, including holidays! Many of the people who worked on our project became to feel like family to us and our baby. Our daughter literally lit up every time somebody came by to start work. I would be remis to not mention Yosselin Rivas in particular. Yosselin was on site everyday to manage the various teams and became our daughter's favorite auntie. She was ALWAYS a ray of sunshine. It's been almost a year since we finished work and we still miss her presence in our lives. We are eternally grateful to have met Oscar. We absolutely love the work he did and he will always be our go-to guy for future projects.

A few months ago, I retained the services of John and his construction company, Design Build Strategies. The initial scope of work we agreed upon was a full-scale demolition of a high-rise condo on Wilshire Corridor. I have been extremely satisfied with the outcome and am confident that John and I will continue working together to complete my project. John’s dedication to professionalism and his ability to manage his crew while coordinating with the building’s HOA rules and regulations have been exceptional. He went above and beyond, following all safety protocols, complying with building codes, and addressing every safety concern. Throughout the entire process, I received no complaints from neighbors or the building management. To be honest, I was away for most of the demolition phase. When I returned, I barely recognized the space. Everything had been removed as planned, and the items we agreed to keep were preserved with the utmost care and professionalism. I am especially grateful to John for taking over the permit process. Before I retained his services, the previous company I worked with was delaying things significantly. Once John stepped in, he secured all the necessary permits quickly, enabling the project to move forward without further delays. John is organized, efficient, professional and, most importantly, highly responsive to calls and messages. I look forward to working with him on completing my condo and potentially on other projects in the future.

We have worked with Johnny on multiple projects and he doesn't cease to impress us every time we hire him whether it's designing a house, building it from ground up, or simply remodeling it. Below I tried to summarize some key points. When we were building our house Johnny not only designed the space to utilize every inch of the property efficiently but he managed the entire project seamlessly, coordinating effortlessly with engineering consultants, plan check agencies, and other professionals. His ability to streamline the process ensured that everything stayed on track and stress-free. He handled the permitting process. Now, Burbank is not a walk in the park to obtain a permit and build. Well, we managed to even go on vacation while he was building our place and pulling permits. He is super detailed and thorough. Anyone that ever comes to our house always comments on how meticulous our design is. That's because Johnny wasn't just pushing his agenda on us, but he cared to build us a home that we call our home. We are no designers and needed help with colors and style. He would drive to the tile store with us, to the appliance stores and help us pick things that were within budget and that would match the style we were looking for. His ability to solve problems are superb too. We had some interested neighbor complaints with the city even though everything was being done with permits and here too Johnny didn't cease to surprise us and solved the problem without any issues. Our inspector even complimented us for having him as our contractor. Do yourself a favor and just hire Johnny!

AMAZING, that is what I have to say about John and Design Build Strategies. We were super impressed and extremely happy with Johnny and his team. A partial home flood, turned into a full home remodel. Johnny is great to work with, his crew was always on time, super talented and did everything we asked (lots of last minute changes and add-ons). Johnny was extremely helpful in the design, layout, timing as well as suggestions on the materials to use. The attention to detail in every room was well above standards, everything looks amazing. I never imagined hidden hardwood floors almost 70 years old could be brought back to life and look so beautiful. Our home went from old worn out everything, very out dated, not to mention half was water damaged, and all in dire need of love and attention, to now a bright beautiful home we are looking forward to enjoying!
